RESEARCH visits
As a researcher, we welcome you to join us at Karoo Origins!
Before your visit:
We have eduroam Wi-Fi so please ensure the login credentials from your home institution are setup correctly before your visit so that you can have seamless internet access. Alternative Wi-Fi arrangements can be made if your home institution is not a member of eduroam’s network.
We welcome all researchers and students from reputable institutions, who would like to examine fossils in the collections, to visit Karoo Origins.
The fossils curated at Karoo Origins are internationally recognized as one of the most scientifically significant collections of Permian life. The fantastic preservation of these fossils means they are powerful sources of information for all sorts of research questions, and all of the animals in our collections have closely related species scattered around the world.
Please express your interest in a research visit to our collections by emailing Marina Rubidge : ma****@*************co.za and Viktor Radermacher vi****@*************co.za who will reply with a Research Visit Request Form.
From the historic Drostdy Hotel, to many LekkeSlaap (SA’s AirBnB equivalent) listings, Graaff-Reinet has many accommodation options within walking distance from Karoo Origins. Grocery stores and excellent restaurants are also a 5 min stroll away.
We look forward to your visit!
