Karoo origins
The internationally renowned Rubidge Fossil collection, amassed in the Karoo during the 1930s, will be on display at ‘Karoo Origins – The Fossil Centre’ from April 2025.
The Karoo, that contains the world’s most time extensive record of the distant ancestors of dinosaurs, tortoises, lizards and mammals, is internationally famous for its wealth of fossils.
A visit to Karoo Origins is a not to be missed lifetime experience where visitors will have the opportunity to engage with and contemplate the wonders of the ancient Karoo and understand how dinosaurs and mammals (and ultimately humans) originated.
